February 1     Lowell Hoffman, Improving your Negotiating Skills

Negotiation is a part of every business transaction.  A leading expert says that “You do not get what you deserve, you get what you negotiate!”  This presentation will review some essential principles as well as providing new insight into the process of negotiation.  We will discuss discovery of opportunity beyond “price” and elements of culture that impact the negotiation process.

Lowell Hoffman corporate career included responsibility for global purchasing and supply.  He has “negotiated” in 38 countries.   As a consultant and trainer, he has taught negotiation skills to multinational corporations in Europe, Asia, Latin America and across the US.

February 15     Hunter Gardner, Sweeps Jobs

You need help because you have a job and a life and may not get to your baseboards every week.

Maybe you are moving. Possibly your computer is crawling and your printer broken. Could be that you are throwing a party, and want to actually enjoy it. We bet you can think of a way to benefit from the hardest working, friendliest, and reliable college students we can find.

We tirelessly recruit and interview college students across the Triangle, and then we cover them with insurance and bonding, so you don’t have to. Our Sweepers include student-athlete movers, computer science tech helpers, landscape major yard workers, and so on.

These Sweepers compete over each job posting, and we filter their bids and match you with the best.

In 2004, students at NCSU and UNC (and one mom) founded Sweeps to create work for ourselves and our classmates. We have put aside our rivalry to create a different kind of service organization, one that empowers skilled students to deliver a cost effective, time saving, life changing product to customers.

Whether you need your home cleaned, lawn mowed, stuff moved out, computer fixed or just about anything….contact Sweeps first!
